Executive Director

The State of Connecticut selected Humayun Beg as its Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Governing Board. Mr. Beg is an experienced Information Technology (IT) Executive with a breadth of experience in the following key areas:

• Development of strategies, analysis of alternatives, ROI and business justifications
• Developing shared services for multiple agencies
• Strategic Planning for technology services 
• Executive operations analysis, developed Concept of Operations (ConOps)
• IT Enterprise Solutions Management, from development, deployment to operations
• Program Management Team Mentoring and Coaching 
• Governance and Change management 
• Large Procurement Experience

Mr. Beg joins CJIS with strong IT leadership, CTO and program management experience, including expertise in managing large scale project implementation in a multi-disciplined stakeholder environment, large complex procurements, strategic Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), global outsourcing, transaction brokering and implementation projects. This experience is complemented by demonstrated success in strategy development, P&L management, product life-cycle management, vendor selection and contract negotiation activities.

Prior to becoming Executive Director of the CJIS Governing Board, Mr. Beg was a Managing Consultant and President at a private consulting and advisory firm working with Gartner Consulting, CACI and other large organizations. His responsibilities included IT strategy development, program development, management, deployment and delivery excellence for Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Agencies, Gartner fortune 500 and public sector clients. Prior to that as Managing VP of Global IT operations, he supervised global delivery of Gartner network, data center and application services. He is skilled at navigating widely varying company cultures and organizational structures.

Mr. Beg has honed his skills as an executive business advisor, communication and IT leadership consultant and facilitator. His focus is improving and sustaining executive relationships and engagement of stakeholders. He has the ability to create a deep level of connection with executives that combines with a broad business perspective that produces significant and lasting change. He also brings a record of accomplishment in team oversight and program delivery with scope management to deliver on time and budget. In addition, he has used his skills to organize programs, developing and managing high performance teams, aligning IT strategy and business requirements and meet business goals.
